The Intelligent Evolution of Sectional Matrix Systems |

The V-Ring is the world's first Nickel-Titanium sectional matrix retainer ring. Featuring super-elasticity, the ability to place the wedge before or after ring placement. It is also the only retainer ring that does not get in the way of the wedge. All other sectional matrix systems (except our own Tri-Clip) have the problem that the wedges and the retainer ring compete for the interproximal space. This problem caused the wedge to distort, causes difficulty in placing the retainer spring and can even cause the spring to jump off. The V-Ring over comes all these problems by providing a space for the wedge between the legs of the tines in the V-shaped groove shown on the left. In addition, the V-Ring holds the sectional matrix where it needs to be held so that it forms a natural anatomical shape. This also prevents the matrix from springing back and leaving a gap. The unique patented-pending V-shaped tines prevent the ring collapsing into wide cavities. They also have excellent retention as they grip tightly into the undercuts on both teeth either side of the embrasure.

The Main Points
The image below shows UR6-UR5 contact before placement of a V-Ring and after 3 minutes with the V-Ring in place. The separation that occurred was 60-80µ. The Tab-Matrix thickness is 30µ.
