The V-Ring System was launched at the
Townie Meeting April, Las Vegas 2005. "I have been using your matrix system for a few months now and think it is great! It really does make life much easier and more predictable. I genuinely believe it to be well thought out and well executed, with a short learning curve. While there are many products in the market place, this matrix system actually provides a better service for patients and an easier, less stressful experience for the dentist" "I only now use V-Rings for my Class II's. I now do not have problems with gaps or food packs I used to have despite trying many methods, wedges and 'push' systems. I now find it takes very little time to place, often less than siqveland with wedges, and to date over two months, I have not had a patient back with any complaints about contacts. I would thoroughly recommend your system to anyone." "The system is bloody marvelous. I wish I’d had it six yrs ago when I graduated. The best thing to come out of New Zealand since Josh Kronfeld came and joined Leicester. Excellent contact points every time." "I was intrigued by the V-Ring Sectional Matrix system when I saw it advertised in Dentistry Today. I was frustrated with my old "Palodent Matrices" system which made it difficult to get consistently correct anatomical embrasure form and contacts with adjacent teeth. I often times re-did posterior Class II composite restorations in amalgam when either the embrasures were irregular or a tight contact could not be established. The V-Ring Sectional Matrix System has exceeded my expectations and improved the quality of the posterior Class II composite resin restorations that patients receive in my practice. It is a "better mouse trap" and I highly recommend it to my fellow practitioners." "Absolutely brilliant product, so easy to use and very versatile. I reckon it will become standard teaching practice in years to come. The inventor will make a fortune! Good luck to him. Only gripe is turnaround time for orders. I’m sure that you will have local depots as product range takes over the dental world." "I have been using the V-Ring along with my three partners for the last year or so and have gotten terrific results. I have not done an amalgam in nine years and this is the only product that I have used that gets the results I have been looking for on a consistent basis. After the initial learning curve (a couple of weeks) posterior composites have become fun and easy to do with very predictable results. I also love the Wave-Wedges; a great improvement. I'm not kidding when I tell you that this is by far the best product I've ever used to place posterior composites." "You can be proud of your system. After 25 years of clinical work I enjoy my fillings again!!! I´m so happy my friend showed it to me." "I have been using V-Rings for over a year, now I wouldn't come to work if I didn't know they were in the drawer! I'm still raving about the contact points they create." "I love the V-Ring! I wrote a comment on one of the blogs about it. My contacts are predictable and the interproximal contours are superior to what I had gotten before the v ring…partly to do with the wonderful contoured, plastic wedges." " I love the product and I am getting consistent results. I was always afraid to check my contacts before and "hoped" that they were good. Now I check with confidence. " "The product you offer is clearly superior, in that it ALWAYS allows for a tight interproximal contact that simply is not so predictable with other systems." " I want you to know that the TrioDent system has taken my composite restorations to a new level of quality. The contours and contacts that I am now able to achieve with it are far superior to any other systems I have used." "TrioDent products are of great assistance in our dental practice! " "I love this system, and I appreciate the superior customer service. If you haven’t tried this system yet it is worth every penny! " "I'd like to say this system is bloody fantastic!! I am much happier about posterior composite placement now." " I could not be happier with the TrioDent system. I have never gotten a bad contact. Your system makes composites as easy as amalgams. I’m happy I made the initial purchase to try this system. It beats all others hands down." " I am so fortunate to have discovered this "gem" of a system from Drs. Bob Barr & Mark Colonna while receiving advanced laser training this past summer. They both spoke so highly of the system & of Dr. Milicich that it was a "no-brainer" to try. I have fully converted from the Composi-Tight system & have found superior results. Thank you for taking the time to ask for feedback. Much like the Waterlase lasers, I'll never give up the Triodent System and go back to practicing dentistry the "old-fashioned" way!" " I am really thrilled with the V ring sectional matrices. There has always been the weak link in posterior composites and at long last your product is the answer - I really feel comfortable with them knowing that I'll be able to get a nice contact which will ping when flossed." " I have really been enjoying the V-ring. For a long time I have shied away from doing Class ll composites because of the poor contacts I was achieving. Now that problem is eliminated and I am happy to say that after almost 20 years of practicing I have move into the millennium." "After a couple of months of using the TrioDent system I am glad that I switched to this system. I have less finishing to do and the restorations are what I'm looking for. Thanks!" " I use the V-Ring almost exclusively for my class II composite restorations. Good contacts are no longer a hit -and -miss affair. The V-Ring is a perfect pairing with my Waterlase MD dental laser. I have recommended your product to many of my colleagues." "I took the V ring sectional
matrix out for a test drive today. I think it is exceptional. "I definitely would agree that the Garrison system's weak point is the damned
wedge placement. It's a pain. Yep, ya see? Frustration. I hate most damned
ring systems. I hate frustration. The thing is that these V-Rings are just
so danged simple. Slip it on, slide a wedge through the middle of the "V",
burnish and fill. I mean...it's REALLY just that simple. "I just want to again add that I have ALWAYS
disliked the rings which have accompanied previous matrix systems but that
Simon's V-Ring has made a convert of me. It is the only one that I will use,
and I do think it will make all class II's easier, and especially the larger
ones." "The V-Ring makes placement of restorative materials ridiculously simple.
Unlike other ring designs, the v-Ring is designed to prevent the collapsed
matrix problem we often encounter. In addition, its spring loaded separating
technology separates adjacent teeth enough to provide tight interproximal
contacts. This one is a winner." "I love your product--much easier to use than other sectional matrices and quite ingenious." "“Thank you so much for the V-Ring. As a master in the AGD, I am always looking for ways to improve my work and technique. The V-Ring allows me to create consistent, positive, an anatomically correct contacts. Thanks!"" "I love the V-Ring product." "Your matrix system by far provides the best gingival margin adaptation and
usually the most well-adapted interproximal contours, compared to other
systems." "During some operative procedures, I really struggle with the new matrix systems with sectional matrix and rings. I get everything set up, ready to place the restorative material, when the wedge or band slips, or the ring flies off the tooth. Then I have to start all over again, wishing I hadn't thrown away all my tofflemire retainers. Well, the solution has arrived, all the way from New Zealand. The V-Ring is the world's first Nickel Titanium sectional matrix retainer ring. The NiTi is super elastic for great strength and resilience. Its unique V-shaped tines prevent the ring from collapsing into wide cavities. They also have excellent retention as they grip tightly into the undercuts on both teeth on both sides of the embrasure. When you touch the V-Ring after placement, it feels like it has firmly gripped the tooth. This ring will work with narrow and wide embrasures and most types of bands. But wait, there's more! The V-Ring is the only retainer ring I've found that does not interfere with the wedge. The V-Ring provides a space for the wedge between the legs of the tines. Now, the ring actually holds the wedge in place and makes the ring even more stable. In addition, the V-Ring holds the sectional matrix in the proper position so that it forms a natural anatomical shape. This also prevents the the matrix from springing back and leaving a gap. The great tooth separation of the V-Ring system will create ideal contacts. Try one I think you will agree this is the best matrix system around." "I used your bands on a young man last night. I hadn't seen him in the 3 years he was away in law school. He presented with a very wide (buccal to lingual) and apically deep distal decay on #28. The 5.5 band maintained excellent moisture control and there was minimal buccal and lingual finishing and a perfect contact" "I very much enjoy using the V-ring and Wave wedge system over any other system I used before. I have tried many other systems and found the best contact with the least flash with the V-ring and Wave wedge. I would like to suggest that when doing proximal lesions on adjacent teeth (Distal-occlusal on the anterior tooth (eg first bicuspid) and mesial on the posterior tooth (second bicuspid), you place two bands on the teeth and the V-ring over the posterior tooth then use flowable composite in the gingival box (to seal margins) then fill the DO in the anterior tooth THEN pry out the band leaving the posterior band, wedge and V-ring in place and THEN fill the MO in the posterior tooth. This way the contact is better (regained) as there is only one thickness on metal in place when completing the composite contact area" "I used your system on a difficult patient with a #2 MOD restoration. I am very happy how wonderfully consistent the contacts and marginal ridges are easy to attain" "Overall I love it. I could write a testimonial which would echo the other testimonials I've read. Your product produces the right amount of contact, the right contour of contact with minimal adjustment. Yours is probably the 5th system I've purchased in the last 15 years trying to improve my composite contacts. Though the previous system I purchased and used for the last 4 years produced consistent adequate results and sometime excellent results, your system produces consistent excellent results." "I've stayed away from rings because the rings didn’t work very well with the wedges. Your system is so logical and perfectly engineered and so easy to use with great results. I'm sold." "Many thanks for your speedy and effective help with the forceps problem. The new forceps are working beautifully. I initially thought the intro package was pretty expensive, however after using them and having your excellent help with my problem I feel I have received good value for my costs. I will look forward to doing business with you and your company in the future and will pass my experience on to my friends" "THEY ROCK!!!!!!!! "Not often that a "new" product becomes available that is significantly better than what i am already using. The v-ring is fantastic, much easier to use than the "palodent" ring system.
Many thanks." "This system is incredible." "OK, after using the V-ring for a few weeks I just have to say this:
I am in LOVE. It is a perfect system. I have not one complaint. Talk about
taking a good idea and making it GREAT! I could do class II's all day long!" "Simon, Thanks for the information on the V Ring. I have already begun developing
a section on this device in my lecture series. It is truly a very clever
system and represents a great leap in the development of matrixing systems.
Congratulations and the best of fortune (that word includes money as well as
fame). Why wouldn't the clinician use this system. It's a no-brainer?" "I've been using the V-Ring all this week. It is superb!
Just now did an MODBL WFT on #14 (UL6) with a Tri-Clip
on the distal and a V-Ring on the mesial simultanously. They are a pair made in heaven." "The V-Ring consistently produces better contact points and contours in
my restorations than other bitine-type rings. I now use it in over 90% of my
restorative cases. I wish I had one years ago. V-stands for versatility." "I have found V-rings to be a real time saver for me. Additionally the contours are great.
The things that make them faster are the design of the matrix allows me to slip it into conservative preps without bending a half dozen of them. Also being able to place the wedge with the ring in place is nice. I spend less time now on proximal contour with these things too. Finally, I have never had to have my assistant go get me some hemostats to remove one.
It is very obvious that the inventors had dealt with these problems before and have eliminated them.
I need to order at least one more kit." "I just LOVE the way V-rings shape the restoration!" "Best Possible endorsement ever for the V-ring:
THE V-RING KICKS SOME SERIOUS ASS. "Man, i could have used a v-ring today. lower bicuspid which required long extension of the box buccal-lingually. my composi-tight rings were collapsing the matrix into the prep, and i didn't have access to a v-ring. with the v-rings, i never have that problem. they're becoming another tool i can't practice without." "If I was new to sectional matrix systems I would look no further! Loads
better than those skinny G-rings, They can't quite beat a re-tensioned
Pallodent bi-tine for getting those "nothing else has worked - tight
contacts" but effective in a much bigger range of cases. I'm sold!!!! I
don't care if they are found to be radioactive, I'm not giving them
back;-)." "The V ring is as easy to place as any other bitine rings but the fact
that it can also be used for cavities with wide preps gives it a distinct
advantage. Also the design which allows the placement of a wedge is also a
huge benefit. I like the shape and contours of the restoration that the tab
matrix produces especially for the deeper preps. The contacts that the V ring
produces are as tight as any of the other matrix systems. In the short time
I have used it, it has become a 'cannot do without items' for my direct
posterior composites." "The V-Ring is really easy to use and giving wonderful inter-proximal
contours and contacts every time." "Your product is vastly superior in ease of placement, ease of matrix
removal post restoration, and ability to control wide boxes. The contact is
as good or better than other systems that I have tried. You truly have a
superior product, I hope that it rewards your innovation." "I've got to support my Kiwi colleague here. Consider this a commercial break if you want BUT, Simon McDonald's V-Ring system has made other sectional matrix systems obsolete. You can use any sectional matrix you like with the V-Ring....thus using up all the spare Palodent, Garrison etc matrices that would otherwise clutter up your storage system, when you change to using V-Rings. (As you will !)Wedging is easy, straight in through the slot provided in the V-Ring design, from buccal, lingual or both. "I have been using the v-ring system for 1 month and I
am totally blown away.....its easy to use and more importantly my contacts
have been ridiculously tight. Even my dad (who has been addicted to
toffelmire matrix bands for 25 plus yrs) is now using them on a regular
basis." "I will answer the question from my viewpoint on the V ring versus
bitine ring. The Vring is awesome and has many advantages. Two advantages of
the Vring are the ease of using with a wedge as well as superior retention
of the sectional matrix if a wall of the tooth is missing. In my opinion,
the V ring is truly a revolutionary product worth the money." "Your V-Ring is the best thing I've bought in years!" "For tight contact w/ class II
composites on primary teeth - V-ring w/ 4.5mm tab matrix and slim jim wooden
wedge. i think the tab-matrices (4.5's, 5.5's, and 6.5's) are the best
sectional matrices on the planet. when i first started using the V-ring kit i
didn't think the tab-matrices that came with them were much, but once i
started using them, i'm addicted." "V-rings are the best thing that happened to restorative dentistry!
Can't say enough good things about them" "have to say that the V-Ring are great stuff. "The V-Ring Sectional Matrix System is the best thing
since sliced bread for posterior composites for marginal integrity and contact
points. They have made my dentistry so much more enjoyable" "I am an "amalgam" guy. I rarely do direct posterior composites. I
oredered V-ring, got to use it for the first time yesterday. I must say it
worked very well. My other systems will definitely take a back seat to Simon's
little miracle workers." "I can without hesitation say this is the best matrix system on the market today.
Thank you so much. This product has made good interproximal contacts in class II restorations a predictable success every time." "I cut a similar V into my Bitine rings 10 years ago. I
think Dr McDonald and his ideas are awesome. Wished I had developed the idea
now!" "V-Rings are the best!! Great contacts! Love it! Can't live without them now. " "I am absolutely in love with the V-Ring!" "Best matrix system for class 2 composites. I cannot imagine placing a posterior composite without the use of a V-Ring. Thankfully I don't have to anymore.
" "THESE ARE SPECTACULAR" "Yes, you have truly hit the jackpot with these…it is a pleasure to share a real winner with my lecture and workshop participants." "Heck Graeme, I've always detested the other
systems anyway -- only now after using the V-Ring I detest them even MORE.
Really is amazing how slick this thing is, and how simple. This V-Ring is
AWESOME!! There is NO question in my mind that this will rapidly become THE
matrix system in dentistry." "The new V-Ring is truly the Rolls Royce of sectional matrix retainers.
It copes with lost cusps, works with almost any wedge you
would like to use and won't lose its tension like most other rings tend to do.
The V-Ring works with almost any sectional or full band matrix, as long as a
matrix holder (tofflemiere type) doesn't get in the road. The Automatrix in
conjunction with the V-Ring deals with almost anything big!! This design is an
absolute gem!!!!" "The entire system is fabulous. We've only had them about six weeks and the whole staff really enjoys doing class II's again. To this point, the restorations contours and contacts have been superb. It is a pleasure to wave wedge, clamp, burnish and get the contact and contour with posterior composites that have been so difficult to do in the recent past. Adding to obtain adequate contact (in the past) has been such a pain and this system is a real time-saver. The forceps are ingenious and a time saver also.
"The V-rings are fabulous. Everyone ought to use them." "I have added the Triodent V-Ring Sectional Matrix System to my set-up for all Class II posterior composite restorations. The shape of the matrix gives ideal contour and contact location to the restoration as compared to the straight walls I got with a traditional Tofflemire retainer. The V-wedge protects the papilla, preventing tissue damage and the flexibility results in a superior seal at tissue level. The V-Ring placement results in ideal contour and a very positive contact. There is minimal finishing required, as a result and the restoration has ideal physiologic contours and contact. There is definitely a learning curve to placement, but it is well worthwhile to master. Thank you for taking my posterior composite restorations to the highest level!" |
