September 2009 Triodent has won a prestigious business award promoted by the American Chamber of Commerce. The company has been named Exporter of the Year to the United States in its category at the AmCham-DHL Express Success & Innovation Awards. Winners in these awards, which are run by the American Chamber of Commerce in New Zealand, were announced on September 3. Triodent is also a finalist in two of four special categories in the 2009 New Zealand International Business Awards, formerly the Export Awards, organised by New Zealand Trade and Enterprise. The categories are Most Innovative Approach to International Business and Best Use of Research and Development in International Business (supported by TechNZ). The winners will be announced on September 30. "It's a thrill that an export company based in Katikati can not only become a world player in its field but also achieve acknowledgment at home," Triodent founder, CEO and inventor Dr Simon McDonald said. Triodent had to go through a rigorous entry process for the AmCham and IBA awards and Dr McDonald said he was delighted just to have made the finals in each, matching or bettering many of New Zealand's largest and most successful businesses.
