Tri-Clip "I received my introductory order of tri-clips yesterday. I watched the DVD last night and proceeded to put them to use today. I was continuously amazed at the complexity of the design and yet the simplicity of the process. Kudos to Dr. McDonald! I can't imagine the time and thought it took to develop such a product. I was initially concerned about the plastic rings having adequate tension to develop a tight contact. That worry was quickly overcome after my first restoration. It was particularly helpful with a large MOL restoration on tooth #14. My current system of sectional bands and rings would have crushed the band into the wide preparation. The tri-clip with its wide "embrasure bumpers" maintained the natural shape of the tooth/prep without crushing the matrix band. Again, thanks for a wonderful day of predictable and fun composite restorations." Glen Willis, DMD

"I've used theTri-Clip for several days and have been so pleased with the results so far. I haven't watched the DVD yet but spent time working with the model first - Much easier to use then expected; thin matrix makes much tighter contacts with composites and the wedge is fantastic. Would highly recommend the Tri-Clip."

Here is a case presented by Bruce J LeBlanc on www.DentalTown.com:
"This is a thought of mine from another thread, but for what it's
worth I thought I'd add it here as well. It was regarding Garrison/ palodent
matrix systems. I have used both systems and they are very good for contour
and contacts. Now I use tri-clips.. Honest to God they have cut 30 minutes
of dinging around per quadrant with great results. The wedges are incredible
(no more stuffing pellets over contour wedges..Cure through too!) I am
one who likes to use up inventory before I implement the next latest and
greatest, but armed with these babies and improved curing lights, I can
knock off quadrants faster than I did 5 years ago with amalgam. There
are proceedures where segmetal/ring systems work better, so don't throw
them away, but speed and convenience and added safety that tri-clips add
pays for itself many times over." Posted by "drtique" at www.dentaltown.com I've been using Garrison's ComposiTite system for many years. It's a
sectional matrix and "G-ring" system that works very nicely. Recently
I tried the "TriClip" system. Very slick! It's kinda like the sectional
matrix, G-ring, and wedge all welded together. Makes for EASY placement.
And, it's disposable... no autoclaving. Posted by Mike Barr, Moderator at www.dentaltown.com Palm Beach Smiles Artistic Dentistry by Michael I. So I throw one or 2 away a week. Absolutely ingenious product. Truly enjoy. Simon, what were you smoking when you dreamed these up? No insult intended! What a concept." "I've been using the tri-clips for a week now. Previously used garrison sectionals and palodents. Once I became used to the tri-clips I (and my staff expecially) really like them. Contacts are the tightest of any of the previous systems. The thing I most notice is less interproximal trimming and it is much easier to place(with certain exceptions) than the sectional system. Also, it seems patients are more comfortable with the elastic wedge than other types. The downside is you really need the interproximals open to allow the elastic wedge to stretch through. Deep subgingival preps are somewhat difficult to restore with this system presently." Posted by "Chip Temple" at www.dentaltown.com "All told I'd say this is a great advance in direct composite Class II
delivery, and a very slick all-in-one device that allows us to forgo stocking
all the componentry we have become accustomed to when desiring as-flawless-as-possible
an embrasure." Marshall White, DMD

"I have been using the tri-clip and have been very happy with its'
performance. There are times where it does not apply and you have to index
those situations in your mind so you don't do them again. But I have been
extreemly happy 90% of the time. I love the marginal seal the system provides.
I haven't seen one that compares!" Howard E Olson (Frozendriller)
"I have used the Tri Clip with much success as well. I'd say that
probably 10 percent of the time it cannot be used, but for the other 90
percent it is pretty awesome/ingenius." Quoted from www.dentaltown.com

"There are daily innovations that arise in dentistry. Unlike many of
these, I've found the Tri Clip to be the #1 invention that solves the problem
of light or lack of proximal contacts with composites. In my opinion, composite
manufacturers should include the use of the Tri Clip with their composite
instructions. The ease and confident placement of composite in the proximal
region makes this device a must in the restorative dentist's armamentarium.

Dr Julio Maya, Tampa FL "For the last month or so I have been using a Tri-Clip - sectional
matrix, Clip and 'pull' wedge all in one! I am very impressed. They are
easy to use, create great contacts and work out at little more than an
omnimatrix." Paul Cole BDS. Woking. United Kingdom
"Hey Simon and Marshall, I've been using them for a few weeks and
have to say that I am really impressed with the design, very easy to use.
Like August, I've gotten a few "light" contacts, although they are contacts
that would've been hard to achieve with any technique, and admittedly
I have been pulling the wedge in hard, I'll try it Marshalls way. The
ONLY thing I think could be improved is the "height" of the contraption,
gets a little in the way when placing anatomy in the composite. But otherwise
a great new device." Posted by "Matt Garrison" at www.dentaltown.com "Finally got to use these suckers, and in one word.... IMPRESSIVE

"There
are some situations where nothing else will work. I don't know how I managed
without them. They are quick, easy, and leave the restoration with great
contacts and contours. I get nervous when my supply runs low." "Balancing:

two splinted teeth, you know the kind where one wrong touch and bleeding
starts forever! I cut the tip off the wedge and teased it through the
contacts and compressed it tightly gingivally. It worked great and saved
me 10 minutes easy." Quoted from www.dentaltown.com
