The Tri-Clip allows the dentist to place the matrix, wedge and retainer spring simultaneously, taking less time with less hassle.
The Tri-Clip can work in a huge range of situations, including missing cusps, bicuspids, molars, distals on canines and even primary teeth. It is especially good on premolars. When time is money, the Tri-Clip makes sound economic sense by completing three tasks in one, simplifying a difficult procedure and increasing patient confidence in you. The Tri-Clip comes in two shapes – innies (green) where the matrix faces in towards the spring, and outies (blue) where the matrix faces away from the spring. You can place the springs on the forceps either mesially or distally. For MO cavities you can place the Tri-Clip either a) outward forwards, or b) inward backwards; for DO cavities either a) inward forwards, or b) outward backwards. How to decide? Is the spring going to get in the way of oral structures such as the retro-molar area or the lower incisors? Generally you have better visibility with the spring points facing distally. Also consider the best angle of the matrix in relation to the embrasure to avoid the matrix catching on the gingival floor of the box. |
